Here are what others have said about Dr. Monk’s work, and about the experience they shared with him while he served as their chiropractor.

"I began experiencing lower back pain in the summer of 1992. In September, 1992, I went to my family physician who treated it with heat and medication. The condition became more severe so he sent me for a M.R.I.. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and arthritis in the lumbar spine area. There was also vertebral endplate spurring and stenosis.

To make a long story short, this led to my being evaluated by two orthopedic surgeons, two neurologists, one neurosurgeon and various radiologists over the next year.

I received the following tests: M.R.I., E.M.G., X-ray films, myelogram, CAT scan and a bone scan. I also received a local cortisone injection and two epidural injections.

After all of this, my condition continued to deteriorate to the point where I could not bend more than 10 degrees without severe pain. I was unable to ski the previous season in 1992-93, and all of my other activities were curtailed.

Soon I was able to bend over and pick things up from the floor – something I had not been able to do in over a year.

In September of 1993, a friend suggested that I see Dr. Monk. I did so, and in October started a series of treatments. As the weeks passed I could see improvement in my range of motion and longer and longer periods without pain. Soon I was able to bend over and pick things up from the floor – something I had not been able to do in over a year. By February I was skiing. I am presently being treated every two weeks. I have been able to engage in any activities I desire. I am able to ski, sail, swim, shovel snow and walk long distances without pain.

I realize that chiropractic care has not reversed my degenerative spinal condition, but it has enabled me to regain my lifestyle. I feel that if I use common sense in my activities and continue on a chiropractic maintenance program, my lower back problem will not return.”

"I first started seeing Dr. Monk in March 2016. Prior to my first appointment, I had two major back surgeries in the previous 18 months and I was still having back difficulties.

In February of 2016, I visited the top neurosurgeon at a major Philadelphia university hospital and was told ‘only by removing the existing 2-stage fusion in my lumbar region and replacing it with a 5-stage fusion (which would limit my mobility by 30% – 50%) would I feel any relief at all’.

I did not wish to have any additional surgeries. In constant pain, eventually I listened to a friend who encouraged me to visit Dr. Monk. My 1st visit, I was unable to lay on the table during his initial evaluation of my problems, my pain was so bad! Dr. Monk told me he believed he could help me and I started seeing him 2 – 3 times a week. I was skeptical but desperately needed relief without additional surgery and narcotic medications.

Without Dr. Monk, I don’t know what condition I would be in today.

In the almost 18 months that I have been his patient, I have had two total knee replacements, a broken hip and pelvis, and a torn rotator cuff. He has helped me through all of this. Without Dr. Monk, I don’t know what condition I would be in today.

Dr. Monk has restored my broken body to the point I am able to work, garden and have a life again. While I don’t run or engage in real heavy activities, I now have a somewhat normal life and am able to enjoy everyday activities, sleep soundly, and my pain levels have been reduced from an 8 – 9 level constantly to a level 2 pain!!

I am thankful my friend referred me, and I will be forever grateful to Dr. Monk for his compassion, wit, knowledge and healing hands.

Warmest regards.”
